The story behind the song
Chocks On begins where most aviation songs end — after touchdown. The aircraft is shut down, the chocks are placed, the tie-downs secured and the headset finally comes off; after hours of weather, decisions and concentration, the pilots can leave the airplane behind and return to the simple pleasures of being on the ground.
