The Pilot's Tango

The story behind the song

The Pilot's Tango is a tongue-in-cheek look at the bureaucracy wrapped around modern airline flying — medicals, policy changes, recurrent training, data monitoring, mandatory modules and procedures that somehow manage to become "new" every few years. Beneath the sarcasm is something affectionate and true: when the paperwork is finally left behind and the aircraft lifts off, the original love of flying is still exactly where it began.
