The story behind the song

Inspired by the first 15 hours of flight training and by Alessio's instructor, Tim Healfield, the song captures the emotional roller coaster a student pilot lives through before going solo — excitement, fear, self-doubt, mistakes, laughter and those first moments when the airplane finally begins to feel natural. Tim was young, professional, prepared, relaxed and hands-on: an example of the many pilots who take on flight instruction early in their careers, sharing responsibility and hard-earned knowledge while building experience of their own. As the title suggests, the song follows the countless circuits and touch-and-go landings required to turn trembling hands into confidence, guided by an instructor who knows the student is closer than they realize.
